Hair Journey

Hey PeOplE!
As promised, I have uploaded my natural hair journey so far! I didn't explain to much in the video, so i'll briefly explain the journey. So I've had a relaxer since i was young, I don't even know how old I was. Anyway, my permed hair was healthy and i had no problems with it. Until one fine day, when i bleached my hair! A few weeks later i got a relaxer and my hair fell out towards the front and i had a few short patches. I knew those patches would take forever to catch up to the rest of my hair. So i grew out my hair for 6 months, then cut that bad boy off! I couldn't deal with the two texture thing! :-/  I've been natural for a year and 6 months. My nappaversary was yesterday, January 3rd! :-D I don't have a picture for every month, but you can still see the growth overtime.

So here's my journey...enjoy!

ps: The video quality SucKs...its extra dark and fuzzy ugh!..it's my first time doing one of these

WELCOME !!

Hi world!
This is my very first blog, and i'm super excited! :-D It's nice to do something other than tweet and facebook. So i was introduced to the blog world by one cool chicka named chacha (Charlene)! check out her blog at charlenesjourneytophd.blogspot.com ! I originally started checking out blogs for hair tips and styles. I'm still fairly new to the natural hair community (I guess it's a community..lol). I have been natural for a year and a half. It will be a year and a half exactly January 3rd 2011. I will share my hair journey thus far in another post. I LOVE styling my hair! I think its fun, and i love to learn new styles and try new things! I am also big on hair care. Care = growth :). I know a thing or two about hair now, and i would like to share!

A little bit about myself: I represent two wonderful countries Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago

My mother is a beautiful Nigerian woman and my father is a Trini to the bone!! I love both countries, but i was born and raised here in the states. My real name is not really sizzle lol. That was a name given to me in school by friends. My name is Folasade Wilson. I usually go by Sade, but yall can just call me Miss Sizzle!

I am 22 and I go to Morgan State University (that's in Baltimore Maryland). I will be graduating May 2011!! yaaay! Being at an HBCU is great but i'm sooo ready to bounce. I love to dance (African and Caribbean dance...mostly African) Shout out to my dance team ESSENCE! Luv yall <3. I am a biology major and I plan on taking a year off before I enter graduate school to study public health (global/international health).

I am single for now, so my time is dedicated to me me me! My goals for this blog is to share my natural hair journey with other naturals and anyone else who is curious. I hope to encourage other naturals during their journey, the same way others have encouraged me (mostly on youtube and my natural friends). If your thinking about going natural or are already natural, take the time out to check out various channels on Youtube (if you haven't already). The videos are really helpful and encouraging!! Besides my hair i have a whole lot to say. I am a thinker...meaning i am curious and i tend to think a lot. (hope that explains it lol) I have a journal (regular notebook) that i write in periodically. I never let anyone read it because its super personal. But lately I've been thinking i should let some of it out and share it with the world! Shucks, why not! So i will be sprinkling random and not so random post on various topics!

So here we go...let the journey begin..
